New Guinea, Highlands, Parrying shield of irregular form, the flat wooden plane tapered and rounded at the base bulging the sides and pierced at the top for attachment of a thick handle overplayed with woven reeds framed by pointed triangular sections; dark brown patina with traces of white turquoise and ochre.
